Encounters

Others might describe these as services or products. For me, “encounters” gestures towards my sense that you are active in shaping your experience from the get-go. If what you are looking for is not in my scope of practice or competence, I will tell you, and either work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support your needs, or alternatively help you find someone who may be better placed to support you. My fees are on a sliding scale with a discounted fee of £40 per hour for trainee counsellors. I will quote you individually for any support that we initially agree and this will be shaped by duration, frequency, location (e.g., travel expenses), and preparation that may be associated with the work. It all begins with the initial encounter: select how you get in touch with me, using either the contact form, email, or by phone.

The Encounters

  • A bald man wearing glasses and a white shirt sitting in an orange chair near a window, gesturing with his right hand while speaking.

    1-2-1 Support

Whether you looking for therapy, counselling or sport psychology, I will tailor my support to your individual needs. Discreet, professional, work undertaken with you. Meetings characterised by compassion, curiosity, and challenge. It could be regular weekly sessions, but it can be so much more than this.

  • Letter beads arranged to spell 'TOGETHER' at the top and 'IS THE WAY' at the bottom on a black textured surface.

    Teams/Organisations

Mark can work with teams and organisations in a number of ways, including pre- or post-season support, needs auditing, or working with and through coaches/managers to enhance performance and well-being. Where there may not be complete psychological safety, there is collaborative intimacy, a culture and environment that we care about and feel cared for.

  • A flock of birds flying over the ocean at sunset, with the sky in pastel shades and a sandy beach in the foreground.

    Workshops/Keynotes

As an experienced presenter Mark can adapt his presentations to suit a wide variety of audiences, whether it is for an away-day, an educational seminar, a conference, or a school visit. Think of these as provocations, an encounter that may help you think differently about the differences that matter

  • A bald man with glasses wearing a brown sweater and checkered shirt looking down and gesturing with his hands in front of a colorful painting of houses with red roofs.

    Supervision

Are you thinking about working towards registration as a sport and exercise psychologist via the QSEP or SEPAR pathways? Mark’s supervision works on the hyphen between the parameters of the qualification and personal pursuits. His training as a counsellor offers an invitation to sharpen the instrument of practice -you - through prompts and activities that promote self awareness.
