As a counsellor and sport psychologist, I bring a warm, collaborative, curious, and gentle disposition to my work. It is a privilege and pleasure to develop with individuals a discreet, compassionate, and professional relationship that facilitates change.
that informs your insight, development, tion of the patterns of relations that are associated with the changes that you would like to make. bedrock fong. foundations, n a world where margins matter, our work is really undertaken within the margins, noticelief that thI believe that have a commitment to forging an alliance in which I have in excess of 20 years’ experience supporting individuals and teams make changes that matter to them. I have a deep commitment to forging a relationship that help develop your holistic psychological growth.
With a particular expertise in supporting athletes’ mental health, my research has been cited in the design of mental health services for Canadian Sport, a number of International Position Stands, and has shaped interventions delivered to Premier League Academy footballers.
With a warm, collaborative, curious and gentle disposition, I am probably at my best forging relationships with clients to foster long-term sustainable change.
Assumptions that I work with:
I believe that we are in a process of constant change, often subtle outside of our awareness, but change nonetheless.
I believe there is an inherent uncertainty in life (indeterminacy is the technical term), and that in d that in our work, we cannot fully know what may be encountered at the start.
I believe that the manner in which we make sense of things matter. When we look closely, any “thing” (e.g., depression, anxiety, indeed our self) is comprised of a multiplicity of relations. It is the pattern of relations that is the problem, not the thing.
I believe that psychological support/therapy is just one type of encounter that can facilitate change.
I believe that you have the capacity, tenacity, and humility to become differently; not just anyone or anything, but a you anew - alive as you can possibly be.
When I am not working, I enjoy time with loved ones, outdoor swimming, crafting, cooking, and some personal ‘athletic’ challenges. In recent years I have completed the Great North Swim and the Scottish Coast-to-Coast. All of these things, in different ways, bring me alive.
